Summer Time

By Dana Hotchkin

I can’t believe that the end of the year has arrived! Time flies by, and it really can pass without us concentrating on what we really want to focus on. The reality is that we only have a certain amount of resources, time and energy and so we have to make choices about what we spend that time and energy on. Which means, we have to make sacrifices of some things to make way for those things we value more. So I want to encourage you guys, as this year comes to an end and exciting holiday fun begins to focus on what really matters. Whether that be doing that thing you’ve always let sit in your heart but never done, spending time with friends and family, and of course spending time with our amazing God!

Let’s continue to make melody with our hearts to the Lord at all times and for everything as it says in Ephesians 5:19, and let’s not let the “excitement of youth to cause us to forget our Creator” as it says in Eccesiastes 12:11.

So during the summer have fun, go on adventures, do new things, but most of all worship the creator of the universe who loves nothing more than for us to pour our hearts and lives out to him. Remember that the worship of God has the perks of joy, liberty, freedom, peace, hope, strength, wisdom, and the release of Gods power and blessing. No matter what the rest of this year, next year and the years to come holds we always have this hope to hold onto!

But speaking of fun summer times, keep your eyes and ears peeled to more info on a waterskiing day we have planned for Friday 15th January which is going to be epic! Love so much for everyone to come along and be a part of the watery fun!

Have the best summer, peace out from the leaders =)

Keep on Dreaming

By Dan Alderden

As we head toward the close of this year and look toward the opening of a fresh new one, it’s a time to reflect on what 2009 has been and what 2010 can be. It’s usually around this time of year that we examine our achievements, measure our goals & how close we came to reaching them (or not reaching them), rejoice in our successes, but for some, all kinds of emotions can flow through our system as we look at those things that are still in our heart but are not yet a reality in our life. If that’s how you feel, don’t worry, your not alone!

All of us have dreams in our hearts that have not yet been fulfilled but that doesn't mean they wont be. Instead of seeing ’09 as another year where your dreams didn’t seam to happen, see it as a year that God was preparing you for your dreams and that you are closer now to your dreams than you ever have been before!!!

God is a dreamer & He has placed great dreams inside of you. At this time of the year the temptation to give up on your dreams can easily creep in but let me encourage you to do the exact opposite! Instead of giving up & letting go of what has been stirring in you for so long, start to stir it up afresh in prayer & ask God for His wisdom to be positioned in the centre of His will for 2010 so that you can collide with His dream for your life! Start meditating on what life will look like when your dream becomes a reality, re-strategize and make changes where you need to. Most of all, keep trusting in the one who is trustworthy, Jesus! He will never let us down, He will never give up on us so lets not give up on believing that He will come through for us! Remember this awesome promise in 2Cor 2:9

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
and no mind has imagined
what God has prepared
for those who love him.”

Don’t miss out on our last service night for 09 this Friday as Dana Hotchkin brings a powerful word! Have an awesome week and keep on dreaming!!

Graced For Greatness!

By Ps Dan Alderden

Have you ever had a felling on the inside of you that you were born for something great? Ever had the sense that there is something on the inside of you that is destined for greatness but can’t quite figure out how to see that greatness become a reality? Well let me tell you something, that felling that you were born for something great, it’s absolutely true, you are! God has called you to be great in “His eyes” and to live a life of greatness that will bring Him glory!

I believe that God has called each & everyone of us to be great by living out the individual grace that He has given us. The great Apostle Paul who traveled from nation to nation preaching the gospel, planting churches, raising leaders, seeing signs, wonders & miracles every where he went & who also wrote 2 thirds of the new testament said of himself, “by the grace of God I am what I am!” 1Cor 15:10. In other words he was saying “all this greatness that has come out of my life, has all been because of the grace that God put on me and worked through me”. Paul’s boasting was not in his own skill or ability but in the grace of Jesus! This is so exciting because greatness in Gods eyes is not determined by what others think of you, or by the position you hold, but simply by us living out the individual grace that God has given us.

Now is the time for you to stop “trying” to become great and just walk in the grace that God has given you. As you do, greatness will just flow out of your life to bring God glory & touch the lives of people around you. You are graced for greatness!

But by the grace (the unmerited favor and blessing) of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not [found to be] for nothing (fruitless and without effect). In fact, I worked harder than all of them [the apostles], though it was not really I, but the grace (the unmerited favor and blessing) of God which was with me. 1Cor 15:10 AMP
